Sageheart Skill #2

Sageheart Skill #2

'Heartfelt Listening'
Often times we are not authentically listening to what other people are sharing with us. Typically, we are in our mind having a judgement or reaction to what they are saying and then calculating our response and waiting for the chance to say it.

Being deeply heard is an experience that the listener values us and what we are sharing. It demonstrates care and concern and sincere respect. This skill is a powerful relationship builder... and it is really easy to do, once you set the intention to put the skill in place.

Practice- the next time you are engaged in a conversation with somone, practice giving them your undivided attention. Make eye contact, and seek to understand. Notice what is going on in your head and simply redirect your focus to what is being shared with you...
I invite you to share with me your experience in practicing this skill :)
